About The Position

Nexamp is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Developer to join their team and contribute to building and optimizing technology solutions for a sustainable energy future. The role involves working within an engineering squad to enhance the efficiency of capital deployment for solar power plants, focusing on internal financial modeling tools. The developer will be responsible for writing quality code, managing projects from start to finish, refining processes, and mentoring junior team members. This is a hybrid role based in the Boston office, reporting to the squad's Tech Lead.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of full stack software development experience at companies with 10 or more developers.
  • Experience building and optimizing consumer-facing frontend applications in React and Typescript.
  • Experience developing and optimizing web-based solutions in modern Python, ideally using Django, FastAPI, or similar frameworks.
  • Robust understanding of web standards, infrastructure (databases, storage, caching, content delivery, etc.), and cloud platform offerings.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with users and business stakeholders, facilitating software and process requirements.
  • Experience leveraging debugging expertise and a proven track record of independently solving problems.
  • Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git, CI/CD pipelines for automated testing & deployment, and infrastructure tools like Terraform.
  • Understanding of cutting-edge AI tools and a commitment to leveraging them to rapidly deliver high-quality software.
  • Ownership mentality and initiative to make improvements to code, processes, and user experiences across the organization.

  • Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond your organization.

  • Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify root causes of problems, and present creative solutions.
  • Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty across the industry.
  • Eagerness to develop a fundamental understanding of how Nexamp operates and apply that knowledge effectively to inform business decisions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building financial forecasting software is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver value by internalizing objectives and driving measurable change for Nexamp and its customers.
  • Design, implement, and deploy reliable and efficient production software using a React/Django/Azure stack.
  • Collaborate actively in sprint planning, execution, code reviews, demos, and retrospectives.
  • Own design decisions across the stack, establishing and executing scalable patterns, standards, and best practices for the squad.
  • Guide and inspire more junior developers through mentorship and collaboration.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance personal skills and increase impact within the company.
