About The Position

As a Senior Full Stack Java Software Engineer, you will design and build enterprise applications that power Citi's technology platforms, working across the front end and back end to deliver reliable, high-performing solutions. Based in Tampa, FL, you will join an agile delivery team where you will write production code, shape software architecture, and apply AI-driven development tools to accelerate delivery. This role offers the opportunity to influence technical direction while contributing to a broad developer community within Citi.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of software development experience in Java, Spring Boot, and Oracle.
  • Strong knowledge of data structures and object-oriented design principles using Java.
  • Design microservices and event-driven systems using frameworks such as Spring Boot.
  • Develop user interfaces using JavaScript frameworks such as React, along with HTML5 and CSS.
  • Write and optimize SQL and PL/SQL queries against Oracle relational databases.
  • Use CI/CD tools such as Maven, Gradle, Docker, and Jenkins to build and deploy code.
  • Hold a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.

  • Apply exposure to Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI tools to enhance development workflows
  • Deploy and manage applications on AWS cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain full stack Java applications using Spring Boot, React, and Oracle to support enterprise-scale business solutions.
  • Write clean, well-tested code and pair with fellow engineers to deliver sprint goals within an agile team.
  • Break down acceptance criteria to clarify scope, complexity, and risk for backlog items.
  • Design and build RESTful and GraphQL APIs that connect microservices and support cloud-native application development.
  • Containerize applications with Docker and orchestrate services using Kubernetes to improve deployment reliability.
  • Apply AI tools such as GitHub Copilot to speed up development and improve code quality.
  • Investigate the root causes of performance and coding issues and implement lasting fixes.
  • Shape technical and team standards in collaboration with technical leadership.
