About The Position

The Senior Software Engineer codes software applications based on business requirements. Work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues requiring in-depth evaluation of variable factors. The role standardizes software quality assurance procedures, oversees testing and debugging, develops fixes, and researches complaints to resolve complex software-related issues. The engineer begins to influence department strategy, makes technical approach decisions for project components, works without direction, and exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches. The position focuses on delivering frontend and full-stack features for care team members and, where applicable, patients. It translates AI capabilities—including LLM-generated content, structured summaries, and clinical recommendations—into intuitive, trustworthy interfaces suited to high-stakes clinical contexts. The engineer contributes to shared component libraries and design system consistency, ensures interfaces meet accessibility standards and account for users’ needs, and implements frontend practices for sensitive data in accordance with HIPAA requirements. This is a remote position, with occasional travel to Humana offices for training or meetings. The candidate must live close to one of the designated IT locations: NYC, Louisville, Tampa, Fort Lauderdale, Dallas/Frisco, Boston, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Nashville, Chicago, or Charlotte. Home or hybrid employees must have internet service with at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speeds and work from a dedicated space that protects member PHI/HIPAA information. The scheduled workweek is 40 hours.
