About The Position

Nivoda is hiring a Senior Engineer for its Growth Pod, a small, high-ownership team responsible for the customer journey from discovering Nivoda through sign-up, onboarding, verification, activation, checkout, and repeat purchase. The role owns both backend systems and front-end experiences, taking work end to end—from the screens customers see to the data used to evaluate whether those experiences succeed. The engineer will collaborate closely with Product, Design, Data, and Risk, and is expected to use judgement and help shape solutions where no established playbook exists. The role builds customer-facing interfaces with React and Next.js and backend services primarily with TypeScript and Node.js. The broader technology stack includes a GraphQL API gateway, an Nx monorepo with PNPM, OpenSearch, PostgreSQL, Snowflake and dbt, AWS services, Jenkins and GitOps, Segment/Mixpanel, Keycloak, Okta, and Grafana. The engineer will develop and improve funnel and lifecycle systems, including event-driven workflows that continuously evaluate account states and trigger appropriate actions. The work also involves integrating identity verification, KYB/KYC, and fraud or risk providers; responsibly handling credit and payment data; running well-designed experiments; and conducting independent SQL-based cohort and funnel analysis. AI agents and generated content or analytical work may be used, with careful review and verification—especially for sensitive financial, payment, and verification logic. Nivoda describes its culture as collaborative and high-growth, emphasizing empowerment, ownership, learning, and growth. The company is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applicants from all backgrounds. Applicants should submit a CV in English.

Requirements

  • 4–7 years of experience.
  • Strong full-stack product engineering experience, with ownership of production customer-facing features from UI through service.
  • Deep experience with React, TypeScript, and modern front-end practices, including state management, performance, accessibility, and testing.
  • Experience designing experiments rigorously, defining guardrail metrics, and distinguishing real results from noise.
  • Experience with, or appetite for, workflow orchestration, including workflow engines or event pipelines that evaluate state continuously and trigger actions automatically.
  • Strong SQL and data warehouse fluency, such as Snowflake, and confidence conducting cohort and funnel analysis independently.
  • Comfort using AI agents to build and test software and to draft and check analytical work, with judgement to identify subtle errors.
  • High tolerance for ambiguity and energy for problems without an established playbook.
  • Practical fluency evaluating AI-generated output for fitness before it ships.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience integrating identity verification, KYB/KYC, or fraud and risk providers.
  • Fintech-adjacent experience handling credit, payment, or other sensitive financial data responsibly.
  • Experience in a high-growth marketplace or fintech environment with similar account lifecycle complexity.
  • Familiarity with workflow or orchestration tooling such as Temporal or AWS Step Functions, or event-streaming platforms such as Kafka.

Responsibilities

  • Build and ship React/Next.js interfaces for sign-up, onboarding, verification, discovery, and checkout.
  • Partner with Design and Product to translate funnel insights into UI changes and test those changes.
  • Own front-end performance, accessibility, and analytics instrumentation for the funnel.
  • Build reusable components for the Nivoda brand in the MUI design system.
  • Own and evolve backend services supporting onboarding, verification, activation, and the broader sign-up-to-purchase funnel.
  • Design and build event-driven, workflow-orchestrated systems that evaluate account states and automatically trigger appropriate actions.
  • Integrate third-party identity verification, KYB/KYC, and fraud/risk providers, ensuring integrations are resilient, monitored, and fail safely.
  • Handle credit and payment data responsibly in personalization and reactivation logic.
  • Design and run experiments, including defining guardrail metrics and assessing whether results are meaningful.
  • Write SQL and work directly in Snowflake or a similar warehouse to conduct cohort analysis, diagnose activation and churn timing, and investigate funnel issues.
  • Help define and address problems that lack an established playbook.
  • Use AI agents to accelerate development and testing of funnel and lifecycle services, carefully reviewing sensitive logic.
  • Use AI to help draft and check analytical queries, while verifying results before they inform decisions.
  • Critically evaluate AI-generated messaging, reactivation copy, and churn-cause suggestions before use.

Benefits

  • Flexible working hours.
  • Remote-first culture.
  • Opportunities for growth and learning.
  • Unlimited holiday allowance.
  • Opportunity to join during an exponential expansion phase.
