About The Position

An AI-native, venture-backed startup is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to take substantial ownership of its core software platform and help shape the company's technical future. The company is building proprietary technology at the intersection of artificial intelligence, commerce, and business automation. The engineer will work directly with the founders, influence product strategy, make architectural decisions, and build production software. The position may potentially evolve into the company's CTO role over time, but this is not a guaranteed promotion or fixed succession timeline. The role covers end-to-end ownership of the platform, including architecture, development, deployment, and evolution. The engineer will build frontend and backend applications, services, APIs, data pipelines, integrations, and relational database systems. Product areas include customer acquisition, workflow automation, sales operations, and order management, including integrations with enterprise applications such as ERP systems. The engineer will use AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor and Devin, explore AI-driven product capabilities, and improve engineering processes and product quality. Working with founders, commercial teams, and platform users, the engineer will translate business needs and feedback into technical solutions, influence the roadmap and architecture, and help establish engineering practices as the company grows. This is a full-time role based primarily on-site in Austin, Texas, with an expectation of five days per week on-site and potential flexibility for exceptional candidates. Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates. Applicants must already have unrestricted U.S. work authorization; visa sponsorship is unavailable.

Requirements

  • Approximately 3–12 years of professional software engineering experience; significant ownership and technical maturity are preferred.
  • Strong hands-on full-stack experience building and shipping production software.
  • Demonstrated ownership of an entire product, platform, or substantial customer-facing product area.
  • Proficiency with modern frontend technologies such as React, TypeScript, JavaScript, Next.js, or comparable frameworks.
  • Strong backend development experience using Python, Node.js, Java, Go, or equivalent technologies.
  • Experience with relational databases, SQL, ORMs, database architecture, and data modeling.
  • Understanding of API design, integrations, and scalable application architecture.
  • Familiarity with Linux command-line environments and modern development workflows.
  • Strong product judgment, problem-solving ability, and technical decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and execute effectively with limited oversight.
  • Willingness to work primarily on-site in Austin, Texas, or relocate.
  • Applicants must already have unrestricted U.S. work authorization; visa sponsorship is not available.
