About The Position

Deepgram is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to join the Console team. This team is responsible for the front-end experiences that enable developers to discover, test, and adopt Deepgram's services. This includes customer-facing surfaces like Console and Playground, as well as internal tools that enhance the efficiency of various teams within the company. The role involves building polished, high-quality interfaces for both external and internal users, focusing on product experiences that facilitate quick onboarding, understanding of Deepgram's capabilities, project and billing management, and hands-on API exploration. The engineer will also contribute to building internal tools to improve team speed and effectiveness. The ideal candidate is a strong front-end engineer with excellent product taste, technical judgment, and the ability to translate ambiguous problems into clear, well-crafted user experiences. While generalist senior engineers are preferred, familiarity with Elm is considered a plus.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong front-end focus.
• Deep experience with modern front-end technologies and frameworks.
• Strong command of web fundamentals, including HTML, CSS, responsive design, and accessibility.
• A track record of building high-quality user-facing web applications.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate closely with design, product, and engineering partners.
• Strong product and UX judgment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Elm, or interest in learning it.
• Experience building developer-facing products, internal tools, or API-centric interfaces.
• Familiarity with backend integrations and APIs.
• Experience with voice, audio, real-time systems, or AI products.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship front-end features across Deepgram’s customer-facing Console and Playground experiences.
• Build internal-facing tools that improve workflows and productivity across Deepgram.
• Partner with product, design, and engineering to create accessible, performant, and responsive interfaces.
• Translate product ideas and design concepts into well-scoped, incrementally releasable work.
• Balance rapid iteration with long-term maintainability, quality, and performance.
• Help raise the bar through code reviews, technical design discussions, and strong front-end engineering practices.
