Senior FP&A & Strategic Finance Analyst
About The Position
Emerald Design Works is seeking a hands-on Senior FP&A & Strategic Finance Analyst to partner directly with the CFO and leadership team to build the financial engine behind a growing company. This role goes beyond reporting past performance to understanding future outcomes and guiding strategic decisions. The analyst will answer key questions regarding hiring, cash flow needs, revenue forecasting, project profitability, liquidity impacts, investment strategies, and more. The position involves owning short- and long-term cash flow forecasting, annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, scenario modeling, headcount and capacity models, profitability analysis, pipeline and revenue modeling, executive dashboards, long-range strategic planning, and finance process improvements. Due to the company's growth phase, the role also requires supporting invoicing, collections, reconciliations, and month-end activities.
Requirements
- Approximately 5–8 years of FP&A, strategic finance, corporate finance, or related experience
- Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and advanced Excel skills
- Experience with cash flow and working-capital modeling
- Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting fundamentals
- Experience analyzing profitability, utilization, capacity, or other operating drivers
- The ability to turn analysis into recommendations leadership can act on
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a project-based, professional services, construction, design, architecture, engineering, or similar environment is a plus
Responsibilities
- Short- and long-term cash flow forecasting, including a rolling 13-week cash forecast
- Annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and scenario modeling
- Headcount, capacity, utilization, and hiring models
- Project, client, employee, and business-unit profitability analysis
- Pipeline, bookings, backlog, revenue, margin, and cash-flow modeling
- Executive dashboards and financial reporting
- Long-range growth and strategic financial planning
- Analysis that turns financial and operating data into clear recommendations
- Finance process improvements across systems including Studio Designer, Ramp, HubSpot, and related tools
- Support invoicing, collections, reconciliations, month-end activities, and other finance priorities
