We are seeking an enthusiastic Sr. FIX Onboarding Engineer to support the onboarding and certification of external clients onto our electronic trading platforms. This role requires a strong understanding of financial markets and the electronic order lifecycle, as well as the ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder onboarding initiatives. The successful candidate will serve as a key technical liaison between clients and internal teams, providing FIX protocol expertise, coordinating connectivity, and ensuring smooth production go‑lives. Our electronic trading teams are at the forefront of innovation, building massively scalable software and low-latency infrastructure solutions to facilitate client trading across global financial markets. This role sits within a dynamic and critical group responsible for the connectivity and onboarding of external clients to our customers electronic trading platforms. The team works closely with various stakeholders, including sales, coverage, and development teams, to ensure seamless integration and exceptional client experience. This is not a programming position, but some programming knowledge is needed and will be applied for the position. We are looking for analysts with a high degree of communication who understand the certification process, can execute certifications, manage certification troubleshooting, and track status. Analysts should be comfortable working in large certification organizations, navigating log files and troubleshooting in UNIX, and dealing with complex configurations. Requirements

  • 3 to 10 years’ experience executing and coordinating FIX connectivity onboarding and certification efforts, and communicating issues and status to management.
  • Programming/scripting knowledge
  • Knowledge of FIX certification processes and a general understanding of the overall software development life cycle.
  • Experience interfacing with development, testing, deployment, and release processes, best practices, and tools to facilitate the delivery of high quality and resilient solutions.
  • Core understanding of the FIX onboarding and certification process with experience in equities and futures/options
  • Knowledge of the Capital Markets industry and electronic trading flows
  • Understanding of equities and futures transactions and the associated FIX messaging implementations, with specific emphasis on onboarding and certification
  • BA or BS degree in CS, MIS, Computer Information Systems, or a related field

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Perl or other scripting languages is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end onboarding process of electronic trading applications for external clients to the firm's trading systems, from initial request to production go-live.
  • Coordinate new projects, driving deliverable dependencies across multiple internal teams including business, operations, and various platform developers (e.g., algorithmic trading, workflow, networks).
  • Maintain close communication with business and Operations teams to understand requirements and implement effective business solutions.
  • Test and certify new client connections via FIX protocol, ensuring compliance with industry standards and firm-specific requirements.
  • Implement and improve customized client requests, enhancing the flexibility and functionality of our electronic trading offerings.
  • Facilitate network connectivity requests, including configurations related to TCP/IP, Firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on all FIX-related inquiries to relevant business and application teams, acting as a key technical liaison.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during the onboarding process and provide ongoing support.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for client onboarding projects and processes.
  • Contribute to the continuous enhancement and streamlining of onboarding processes, applications, and tooling.
