About The Position

Santander is a global leader and innovator in the financial services industry, evolving into a technology-driven organization. The Workplace Facilities Engineer, Senior Analyst is responsible for operating and maintaining mechanical and critical equipment within three offices in Manhattan. This role manages occupancy, construction, relocation, and renovation of Santander facilities, overseeing cost estimation, contractor supervision, and budget control. The position provides full facilities support for building operations, including interior/exterior structures and services, and manages preventive and reactive maintenance for various systems like HVAC, UPS/Generators, janitorial, fire systems, and elevators. The engineer collaborates with business leaders on space planning, workflow, relocations, and renovations, and supports space allocation planning. They also develop asset lifecycle and replacement plans, maintain vendor records, prepare management reports, and develop/monitor departmental budgets. The role involves building and presenting business cases for facilities projects, overseeing maintenance programs, implementing processes to improve team productivity, and leading budget forecasting and monthly accrual projections. Additionally, the engineer provides coaching, sets goals, conducts performance evaluations, and maintains knowledge of space planning, CAD, and property management practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Business or related field
  • 3+ years in commercial property management
  • 3+ years managing financial aspects of projects/operations
  • Strong knowledge of facilities/property management
  • Proven project management and multitasking ability
  • Basic CAD skills (AutoCAD preferred)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to read architectural drawings/specifications
  • Expertise in facilities, finance, real estate, and construction management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage vendors, including sourcing and negotiation
  • Experience managing staff and overseeing projects
  • Strong organization and follow-through
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Customer-focused with strong relationship-building skills
  • Familiarity with Critical Equipment: CRACS - Computer Room Air Conditioning
  • Familiarity with Critical Equipment: ATS - Automatic Transfer Switch
  • Familiarity with Critical Equipment: Generators
  • Familiarity with Critical Equipment: PreAction/Novec System
  • Familiarity with Critical Equipment: HVAC - Independent systems (Fan coil units, dedicated air)
  • Familiarity with Critical Equipment: BMS - Building Management System
  • Working within a corporate environment

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain mechanical and critical equipment within three offices in Manhattan.
