EverCommerce - Senior Financial Systems Engineer (Remote)
About The Position
EverCommerce is seeking a highly skilled Financial Systems Engineer to design, build, and optimize enterprise financial platforms. This role combines deep accounting knowledge, OneStream and/or NetSuite development expertise, and strong API/integration capabilities. The ideal candidate will have exceptional ability to analyze, debug, and resolve issues within complex financial data across multiple systems and integrations. Success depends on strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and comfort operating in real-world data environments. This individual will partner closely with Accounting, Finance, and Engineering to deliver robust financial systems.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Financial Systems, with a background in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering.
- Deep hands-on experience with OneStream XF.
- Proficient in VB.NET for writing Business Rules and Member Formulas.
- Strong SQL skills; ability to write queries to analyze large datasets, debug transformations, and validate data integrity.
- Functional knowledge of NetSuite data structures (GL, Subsidiaries, Classifications).
- Solid understanding of financial consolidation, GAAP/IFRS, intercompany eliminations, and the financial close process.
- Engineering Mindset.
- Ability to work with 'imperfect data', using SQL or scripting to trace lineage and identify root causes of discrepancies.
- Must be eligible to work without sponsorship.
- Must be able to travel up to 4 times per year for quarterly planning.
Nice To Haves
- Ability to read/debug SuiteScript (JavaScript) is highly preferred, even if not writing it from scratch daily.
Responsibilities
- Architect and maintain OneStream applications, utilizing Extensible Dimensionality to support complex consolidation, planning, and reporting needs.
- Write, optimize, and maintain VB.NET Business Rules for calculations, translations, consolidations, and workflows.
- Implement and extend OneStream Marketplace solutions (e.g., Task Manager, People Planning, Account Reconciliations) to modernize the 'Close' process.
- Optimize consolidation times and query performance through efficient system design and code reviews.
- Serve as the technical owner for how financial data exits NetSuite, designing robust data extraction methods (Saved Searches, SuiteAnalytics, SuiteTalk) to ensure clean data feeds into OneStream.
- Build and maintain automated data pipelines between NetSuite and OneStream using OneStream Data Management/Stage.
- Troubleshoot complex data issues by debugging NetSuite SuiteScript or tracing SQL transformation errors.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to data consistency across systems, using SQL or scripting to trace lineage and identify root causes of discrepancies.
- Replace manual Excel workarounds with system-driven logic and automate repetitive processes.
- Act as the translator between Engineering and Finance, converting accounting requirements into precise technical specifications.
