You can learn more about our Company, Culture and Values here: https://careers.evercommerce.com/us/en EverCommerce is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to provide technical leadership, architecture guidance, and hands-on development across enterprise integration, AWS microservices, Workato automation, and AI-enabled solutions. This role will act as a dev lead, solution architect, and senior hands-on engineer, helping the team design scalable solutions, improve delivery quality, and move high-impact automation initiatives from requirements to production.

Requirements

  • Strong software engineering background with hands-on backend development experience.
  • Experience designing and building solutions on AWS Cloud.
  • Strong knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, databases, authentication, and integration patterns.
  • Experience with automation platforms such as Workato or similar iPaaS tools.
  • Experience with AWS Bedrock
  • Ability to lead technical design discussions and mentor engineers.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Practical understanding of SDLC, testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AI automation, AI agents, LLMs, RAG, or agentic workflows.
  • Experience with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, Secrets Manager, SQS/SNS/EventBridge, CloudWatch, and IAM.
  • Experience with security, compliance, SOX controls, and audit-ready engineering practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical design and development for enterprise integration and automation initiatives.
  • Architect AWS-based microservices, APIs, event-driven flows, and secure integration patterns.
  • Provide hands-on coding support across backend services, APIs, databases, and automation workflows.
  • Guide developers through design reviews, code reviews, troubleshooting, and production readiness.
  • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to clarify requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Help design and implement AI / agentic automation use cases across business functions.
  • Establish engineering best practices for SDLC, documentation, testing, observability, security, and release management.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and drive root cause analysis and long-term fixes.
