About The Position

The Senior Reimbursement Analyst prepares Medicare and Medicaid cost reports, accruals, and rate analyses for campuses, and supports the Director in ensuring reimbursement accuracy and maximization. The role includes coordinating with accounting firms, maintaining audit-ready records, reviewing rates and revenue accruals, reconciling settlement accounts, supporting budgets and audits, and keeping current on third-party rules and regulations. The analyst also trains others on core reimbursement tasks and oversees day-to-day workflow. The position is based in Louisville, Kentucky, with minimal travel as required, typically less than 10%.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• 3–5 years of experience.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Ability to maintain verbal and written communication with coworkers, supervisors, residents, family members, visitors, vendors, and outside business associates.

Responsibilities

• Prepare annual Medicare and Medicaid cost reports.
• Communicate with accounting firms and provide cost report data by completing schedules and analyses using Oracle, Matrix Care, and UKG.
• Maintain electronic files of data used to prepare cost reports for audit purposes.
• Prepare Medicare and Medicaid interim rate reviews as necessary.
• Review rate calculations for accuracy and revenue maximization.
• Coordinate cost report audits and respond to proposed audit adjustments.
• Prepare appeals of audit adjustments and rates as necessary.
• Reconcile reimbursement settlement accounts.
• Prepare and review monthly revenue accruals and/or contractual bookings.
• Assist the Director in developing policies, procedures, reports, and tools to improve work product.
• Participate in budgeting for Medicare and Medicaid rates.
• Prepare journal entries, financial or statistical analyses, reconciliations, and research activities.
• Research and stay current on third-party rules and regulations.
• Train others in core reimbursement tasks and oversee day-to-day workflow to ensure efficient use of time and resources.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
