About The Position

Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. is seeking a Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Specialist for a 20-month contract position to cover a maternity leave. This role is responsible for reviewing, monitoring, actualizing, analyzing, and justifying vehicle profit from price planning to actual P&L. The incumbent will ensure the profitability of new vehicles and existing vehicles’ model year change, and analyze and report vehicle profit variance compared to budget and previous years. This role also supports vehicle and non-vehicle profitability management through P&L analysis, business planning and forecasting, and providing financial insights to management.

Requirements

  • University degree in Business, Commerce, Accounting, Finance or a related field of study.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in the same or similar FP&A positions.
  • Experience in P&L analysis.
  • Proficient in MS Office with advanced Excel & data base skills.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA designation or working towards a CPA designation would be a strong asset.
  • Experience in the automotive industry would be a strong asset.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, organization skills with ability of working under pressure.
  • Fluently bilingual in English and Korean (verbally and written) is preferred.
  • Excellent time management with ability to adapt accordingly to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Review price structures of new vehicles and existing vehicles’ model year change to ensure profitability compared to BP/PY/CY.
  • Evaluate pricing impacts on vehicle gross margin and overall P&L by analyzing key drivers such as price changes, incentives, cost movements, and volume assumptions.
  • Report on vehicle profitability of new model introduction and model year transition to top management.
  • Collaborate with product planning team to understand details regarding the price planning to support management for decision-making.
  • Review, track and evaluate cost items in COGS with a heavy focus on logistic costs.
  • Analyze, monitor and review full P&L for each vehicle at both model and trim-level, and recommend strategic planning.
  • Analyze and report Factory Margin to provide consolidated P&L by vehicle models.
  • Build and maintain DB tool to track and analyze vehicle profitability through its life cycle.
  • Support annual business plan process, 3-month rolling forecasting and month-end closing.
  • Lead Vehicle GM analysis focusing on key profitability drivers, including volume, mix, and margin, to support business decisions.
  • Get involved in Non-vehicle profitability such as Extended warranty.
  • Develop and maintain financial analysis frameworks for new business initiatives and conduct profitability and performance analysis.
  • Present findings and recommendation to top management.
  • Assist with quarterly reviews and year-end audit.
  • Ad-hoc analysis & reporting as required.
