About The Position

The Senior Financial Consulting Director role supervises professional-level Financial Consultants who are responsible for answering questions for all in-plan participants, new entrants, prospects, beneficiaries, and their legal and financial representatives on the complete spectrum of the organization's products and services. This role supports institutions aligned to regional structures and develops strategies and services for offering financial planning advice in person, phone, or virtually to help clients accomplish their immediate and long-term financial goals.

Responsibilities

  • Review capacity plans and sales pipeline to make Go/No-Go decisions on Plan Level Events based on financial impact, event size, and strategic alignment.
  • Establish and maintain meeting cadence with cross-functional response teams.
  • Determine resource deployment strategies and prioritization across simultaneous events.
  • Set engagement and retention goals with clear calls-to-action for each event.
  • Understand the transition process with familiarity of the intake platform, the responsibilities of the roles within transition management, and the key milestones, communications, and legal documents that must be executed.
  • Demonstrate mastery of process flow and improvement. Must show fluency in the ability to not only document individual actions supporting the plan event but must also communicate the larger strategy in executive conversations.
  • Coordinate knowledge transfer and documentation of best practices as it relates to the PLE.
  • Maintain strong intra-TIAA relationships with the affected 9 Business Units.
  • Coordinate sub-committee groups not only with the immediate teams supporting a transition but also with the executive leadership of each lever to ensure best practices, innovations, and adherence to TIAA strategy is followed.
  • Coordinate activities and communications across all stakeholders including: IRM Teams (Relationship Managers/Market Leaders), Lead Deployment and COR teams, Enterprise Analytics (TEA), Wealth Management, TRAC (In-Market Financial Consultants), National Plan Event Team (NPET), Marketing, Legal, Finance/Business Performance & Analytics, Transitions Team.
  • Gather and analyze plan-level event data through Salesforce and IR Airport.
  • Submit Early Lead Intake and National Plan Event intake forms.
  • Confirm participant engagement windows and advise teams of legal guidance.
  • Monitor week-over-week reporting until blackout dates.
  • Manage all client needs and escalations through RAID log (Risks, Actions, Issues, Decisions).
  • Provide client-facing teams with participant options and engagement strategies.
  • Partner directly with offer management and understand the direction of updated Record Keeping Agreements and the provisions involved in the RKA’s for data sharing, participant support, wealth engagement, pricing, and availability of TIAA products.
  • Consult with teams on final engagement metrics (assets, meetings, referrals).
  • Identify behavioral patterns to inform future engagement strategies.
  • Ensure measurement against established baselines and targets.
  • Drive continuous optimization of future Plan Level Events.
  • Monitor Financial Consultants’ and Associate Financial Consultants’ who counsel participants on their pension plans, tax deferred annuities and other available investment options in order to help clients retain and grow assets.
  • Educate, recommend and facilitate new product purchases (including retail mutual funds, annuities, IRAs, 529, 403b, bank products and others) and provide authoritative information upon which important personal financial planning decisions are based.
  • Interact with retirement plan participants to provide exceptional customer service and execute transaction and service requests.
  • Utilize knowledge of tax and investment strategies to inform financial advice based on clients' financial needs and objectives.
  • Deliver financial educational and plan change webinars/seminars.
  • Communicate internally with cross-business partnerships to develop and implement TIAA products and services to support clients and company initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationship with Institutional Plan Sponsors.
  • Serve as the business owner for TRAC involvement for webinars, workshops, and public appearances.
  • Maintain a high level of public speaker prowess and is capable of coaching TRAC associates to deliver an exceptional experience.
  • May be called upon to facilitate events, if necessary.
  • Serve as single point of accountability for all issues throughout the event.
  • Ensure all problems are properly escalated, documented, and resolved.
  • Maintain audit trail of decisions and outcomes.
