Senior Financial Clearance Representative - Admitting - Full Time 8 Hour Variable Shift (Non Union)
About The Position
The Senior Financial Counselor Representative (VHH) provides daily leadership support, including monitoring work quality, assisting with workflow questions, and assisting management with department schedule and coverage as needed in assigned area(s). This position verifies insurance coverage, obtain required authorizations, determines patient financial responsibility. Possess comprehensive knowledge of EMTALA regulations, Emergency Room (ER) registration workflows, and Hospital Presumptive Eligibility programs. This role requires close collaboration with ER staff to facilitate timely and accurate financial clearance for patients admitted through the emergency department, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines, and supporting optimal patient care delivery.
Requirements
- High School or equivalent
- 5 years combined knowledge in Insurance Verification, Authorization submission and Financial Counseling experience.
- Thorough knowledge in patient accounts, admission and insurances verification.
- Demonstrates leadership.
- Knowledgeable in Managed Care Payors, Medicare, MediCal and Letters of Agreement.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to speak, read and write English proficiently.
- Knowledge of EMTALA and hospital billing and collection process.
- Knowledge of third-party payer relationships as well as relevant state and federal health programs.
- Ability to multi-task with excellent organization skills required.
- AB508 (Management of Assaultive Behavior) Must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Benefits
- The hourly rate range for this position is $25.00 - $39.69.
