About The Position

The Senior Financial Analytics Professional develops and analyzes projection models to support and influence business decisions. This role will require strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills to solve complex problems, explain variances and trends, and enhance modeling techniques. SQL and Excel expertise will be necessary to build and develop models related to our financial accrual process. The Senior Financial Analytics Professional will be responsible for owning a revenue projection model, analyzing results, and translating complex financial and operational drivers into clear, actionable insights related to our financial accrual process (over $5B in value). The ideal candidate is highly analytical, technically strong, detail-oriented, collaborative, and a strong team player. The MRA Finance team supports Humana’s Risk Adjustment business area, part of the Medicare business. Medicare Advantage remains Humana’s largest business, serving millions of members nationwide and contributing the majority of Humana’s consolidated revenue. The Finance team develops revenue and risk score projections for bids, budgets, forecasts, and strategic planning; evaluates the financial impact of CMS regulatory changes and Medicare Advantage payment model updates; monitors and reports on risk adjustment data submissions; and supports risk adjustment operations and other initiatives that strengthen compliance, revenue accuracy, and overall business performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 3 years technical experience working with financial modeling using SQL and Excel (i.e. pivot tables, analytical trends).
  • Experience writing SQL processes
  • Proven experience developing and maintaining analytical models.
  • Must be able to explain variances and trends and enhance modeling techniques.
  • Experience working with moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.
  • Proven experience collaborating with others.
