About The Position

Amazon Ads is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join their Ads Marketing Finance team. This role will focus on the financial planning and analysis for the Amazon Ads' Marketing organization. The analyst will collaborate with finance and business stakeholders to develop and maintain financial models for short- and long-term planning, assess new business opportunities and investments, and contribute to strategic initiatives aimed at growing the global advertising portfolio. Key responsibilities include monthly and quarterly financial performance reporting, managing marketing investment spend, developing metrics for marketing effectiveness, and providing ad-hoc analytical support to leadership. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong financial modeling skills, attention to detail, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will possess strong business acumen, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to use data for large-scale decision-making.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
  • 3+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
  • 3+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
  • 3+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
  • Bachelor's degree

Responsibilities

  • Partner with finance and business stakeholders to deliver financial analysis that supports business growth, and execute ad-hoc projects and analyses as needed.
  • Build and maintain operational and financial metrics that provide visibility into business health, surfacing trends and insights to support leadership decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain quantitative models and business cases to support the evaluation and implementation of new marketing initiatives and investments.
  • Own controllership of Marketing investment spend, including tracking actuals against plan, investigating variances, and maintaining action plans to close gaps to financial targets.
  • Support analysis of marketing channel performance and test-and-learn initiatives to help refine strategies for driving incremental Ads revenue
