Make your tomorrow with us. The Financial Analyst is responsible for leading the financial planning, budgeting, and contract negotiation for a portfolio of sponsored clinical research studies. This role ensures financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and effective execution of grants and contracts while providing advanced financial analysis, forecasting, and risk assessment. Serving as a strategic partner to investigators and leadership, the analyst drives informed decision-making, supports change management initiatives, and leads process improvements to enhance efficiency and performance across clinical trial operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting, or business administration. 4 years of experience may be accepted in lieu of bachelor's degree.
  • 3 or more years of finance or accounting experience.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills, analytical, organizational and time management skills, MS Office skills, Advanced knowledge of Excel, ability to learn job-specific software.
  • Multitasks and prioritizes multiple projects under deadlines.
  • Demonstrates strong accountability and follow-through skills as well as a desire for continuous improvement.
  • Performs detailed work timely with a high degree of accuracy and can ensure reasonableness of work.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of complex clinical trial budgets, ensuring accuracy, feasibility, and alignment with sponsor requirements.
  • Negotiate budgets and contractual terms with industry sponsors, government agencies, and external partners.
  • Manage a portfolio of clinical trial grants and contracts, ensuring timely execution and overall financial integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with federal regulations, institutional policies, and sponsor requirements across all activities.
  • Perform advanced financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis to support planning and decision-making.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, identify financial risks and opportunities, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner, providing recommendations for change management and driving course corrections.
  • Lead and contribute to financial process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and reporting.
  • Other duties assigned.
