This role is responsible for coordinating major financial reporting and budgeting activities, ensuring compliance with regulations and reporting requirements, and coordinating the correction of account balances, resolving funding issues, and maintaining proper accounting controls and procedures. The position also involves making recommendations to management related to long-range financial and cash flow analyses, preparing and analyzing statistical and financial reports, financial statements, and supporting schedules. Additionally, the role may involve assisting in preparing, developing, and monitoring department/organizational budgets, maintaining grant agreements, policies, and guidelines, coordinating grant reporting requirements, reviewing grant funding source compliance, and negotiating grant funding with awarding agencies. The Senior Financial Analyst may also perform indirect cost analysis and potentially hire, train, and supervise a small staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, finance or a related field and four years of financial analyst or accounting experience, OR equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates major financial reporting and budgeting activities.
  • Ensures compliance with regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinates the correction of account balances, resolves funding issues and maintains proper accounting controls and procedures.
  • Makes recommendations to management related to long-range financial and cash flow analyses.
  • Prepares and analyzes statistical and financial reports, financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • May assist in preparing, developing and monitoring department/organizational budgets.
  • May maintain grant agreements, policies and guidelines; coordinate grant reporting requirements; review grant funding source compliance; and negotiate grant funding with awarding agencies.
  • May perform indirect cost analysis.
  • May hire, train, and supervise a small staff.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.
  • Monthly calculation of accrued and actual expenses and revenues and preparing related journal entries.
  • Calculating, aggregating and submitting the monthly invoice and detail to Grady management for review and remittance.
  • Completion of the billing in the accounts receivable system.
  • Completing reconciliations of related accounts.
  • Preparing monthly reports including budget variances, including analyzing the information for accuracy and trends, preparing for dissemination and following up with users when required.
  • Continual review of the transaction process with the focus on driving out efficiencies and improving accuracy.
  • Ability to manipulate large data sets, including relevant calculations, analysis and formatting.
  • Assist in special projects in addition to the recurring activities.
