About The Position

The Senior Financial Analyst works with Investment Operations team members on daily operational activities for private debt and private equity investments, including Asset Backed Finance, Middle Market Direct Lending, Opportunistic Credit, Infrastructure Credit, and Real Estate Credit. The role requires an understanding of the processes, documentation, data management, and fund manager communication needed to execute transactions and administer assets after closing. The position supports Investment Operations in building the operational framework and processes for private credit investments. It works with Portfolio Management, Finance, Tax, technology, and reporting teams to ensure private credit deals are accounted for and reported correctly from funding through exit. The role is based in a hybrid office environment, with in-office work Tuesday through Thursday, and may involve occasional travel of less than 10%.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience with a degree.
Advanced computer skills.

Nice To Haves

4–5 years of relevant experience working in investment operations.
Strong knowledge of private credit fund concepts across multiple strategies, including corporate direct lending.
Strong knowledge of general finance, process documentation, and cross-functional operations.
Solid analytical skills and ability to understand and resolve problems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Ability to manage competing tasks and deadlines while independently driving projects to completion.

Responsibilities

Perform and review lifecycle accounting in the accounting book of record (ABOR), including trade activity processing, principal and interest, fees, expenses, and capital contributions and distributions.
Review and maintain issuer- and asset-level reference data setup.
Perform and review daily cash and position reconciliations across entities, resolving cash and position breaks in a timely manner.
Coordinate with Cash Management to ensure accounts have sufficient liquidity and wires are processed promptly.
Prepare ad hoc reporting for stakeholders and support regulatory reporting across multiple bases of accounting.
Drive process improvements and long-term systematic automation by identifying inefficiencies and bottlenecks and enhancing workflows across the Clearwater solution.
Review the private deal pipeline regularly to ensure deals are tracked on time.
Analyze legal documents, including credit agreements and fee letters, to identify critical terms for private deals.
Help develop and document operational procedures and controls, ensure they are executed properly, and escalate issues to stakeholders when warranted.
Support document management for private credit deals.
