About The Position

As a Senior Financial Analyst, your goal is to support the Energy Solutions business unit through leading and performing complex accounting and finance functions such as: month-end closing, reporting, analysis of operations, and other analysis process-related activities. You will develop financial models and action-based analytics to streamline processes and aid in informed business decisions. You will lead new product development financial modeling for the business unit, assist with quarterly forecasting preparation, and lead cost center spend reviews. You will also perform and lead month-end closing, prepare financial analyses and bridges on month-end results, and prepare complex reports daily, weekly, and monthly. Additionally, you will review account details, follow up on month-end closing items, and identify and recommend improvements for managerial and operational controls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field OR equivalent education and experience
  • Minimum of three years of accounting/finance experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Strong analytical skills necessary to review/analyze accounting and financial data, substantiate financial statement balances and prepare financial statement account reconciliation
  • High ability to identify, measure, evaluate & improve, if necessary, the effectiveness of accounting, financial, managerial and operational controls
  • Strong verbal & written communication & interpersonal skills to interact with a diverse group of people in a team environment
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interface with all levels
  • Advanced computer skills including advanced knowledge of and experience working with spreadsheet software
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects with a strong attention to accuracy and detail
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop financial models and action based analytics to streamline processes and to help make informed business decisions
  • Lead the new product development financial modeling for the business unit ensuring company resources are being used most effectively
  • Assist with quarterly forecasting preparation
  • Lead cost center spend reviews ensuring departments adhere to target levels and understand their activity
  • Perform and lead month-end closing of varying complexity which includes: calculating accrual/reserve balances and discussing calculations with management for subjective nature accounts to arrive at decision; analyzing general ledger account data for accuracy and adjusting accounts if necessary; booking various other journal entries and statistical key figures
  • Prepare financial analyses and bridges on month-end results
  • Prepare complex reports daily, weekly and monthly which may include but not be limited to sales, inventory, production, raw material purchasing and cost of quality
  • Review detail of accounts and follow-up on month-end closing items when necessary
  • Identify and recommend improvements for managerial and operational controls
