About The Position

This role focuses on compensation and partner file management, financial accounting, controls, continuous improvement, and tax-related tasks for the Partners Office. The Senior Financial Analyst will maintain documentation, analyze financial information for partner files, prepare compensation schedules, manage distribution and payment files, coordinate capital contributions, and support management in partner communications. Additionally, the role involves financial accounting entries, developing internal controls for partners' equity, supporting external auditors, assisting with tax obligations (T5013, RL-15), performing reconciliations, acting as an internal expert in partnership taxation, and collaborating with external firms for complex tax questions. The position also requires applying for certificates of residency from the Canada Revenue Agency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in financial accounting or financial analysis
  • Expertise in partnership taxation (or strong interest in taxation)
  • Experience in a similar position within an accounting or law firm is a significant asset.
  • Advance command of Excel
  • Highly organized and excellent priority management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to structure information and communicate with clarity and professionalism when required
  • Bilingualism (French/English) required

Responsibilities

  • Maintain rigorous, structured, and up-to-date documentation of associate files.
  • Prepare, structure, and analyze the financial information required to respond to information requests related to partner files.
  • Prepare and analyze partner compensation schedules.
  • Produce and validate monthly distribution and payment files to partners, including retirement allowances and consulting fees, in accordance with applicable agreements.
  • Upload monthly distribution data to the payroll system.
  • Prepare and coordinate capital contributions and repayments and act as a point of contact with banks.
  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement of the Partners Office processes, policies, and practices.
  • Coordinate the allocation of amounts due to partners in connection with the global referral program.
  • Support management in all communications to partners.
  • Support partners in the creation of a professional corporation.
  • Prepare and record month-end and year-end entries related to the Partners Office.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls related to partners' equity.
  • Support external auditors.
  • Assist in the preparation and follow-up of partners' tax obligations (T5013, RL-15 and other applicable slips).
  • Perform rigorous reconciliations between accounting, tax and operational data.
  • Act as an internal expert in partnership taxation and demonstrate an ability to explain complex financial and tax information clearly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with external firms (accounting firms) to obtain answers to more complex tax questions from partners.
  • Apply to the Canada Revenue Agency for certificates of residency.
