About The Position

Engineering & Property Services (E&PS) is responsible for all J&J buildings globally, offering comprehensive services from Real Estate and Engineering to Facilities Management. This role provides strategic finance support to the Enterprise Real Estate team, advising on global Real Estate investments and leading the consolidation and reporting of financial forecasts and actuals for global real estate. The Senior Financial Analyst will be a key member of the Global Real Estate team, driving strategy and prioritization for investment decisions and standards. They will partner with local finance teams and various levels of the Corporation, including CFOs and leadership, to ensure optimal footprint decisions. The role involves supporting business case development for non-supply chain Real Estate projects in North America and Latin America, and leading the budgeting process for global real estate, including Business Plan (BP), forecast updates, Long Range Financial Plan (LRFP), and actual reporting. This includes coordinating stakeholder materials for global E&PS reviews and providing timely communication of deadlines to regional real estate finance teams. The analyst will also be responsible for actuals reporting, including journal entries and variance commentary, and providing financial guidance and education to business partners. A continuous improvement mindset is encouraged, leveraging technology and process improvements. The role requires a high degree of independence, strong communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to conduct analysis with minimal supervision, partnering effectively with Supply Chain and Commercial Finance teams, Facilities Management, and E&PS leadership. Success depends on balancing strategic and detailed perspectives, clear communication of business impacts, and managing complex, cross-functional processes and timelines. The position demands prioritizing activities while maintaining high customer service levels and managing multiple projects effectively.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance or accounting or any related business is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of finance or accounting experience (with strong knowledge of J&J financial processes & Accounting ERPs) is preferred.
  • Developing relationships with business partners across all functions is required.
  • Self-starter ready to take initiative to drive value creation, as well as process development and improvement.
  • Strong Financial Modeling experience using Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (i.e., Pivot Tables, Formulas, VLOOKUP functions) is required.
  • Proven presentation/collaborative skills to influence/negotiate with senior leadership and operate well in a complex, matrixed & ambiguous environment are required.
  • Demonstrated robust analytical and technical skills, with the ability to simplify complex discussions.
  • Strong ability to frame effectively business cases across all levels of the organization leveraging PowerPoint skills and excellent business communication / storytelling skills (verbal and written) are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degrees or certifications such as MBA, CPA, CMA, or other applicable certifications are preferred.
  • Experience using Alteryx, Tableau, or other automation and visualization tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Key member of the Global Real Estate team on driving strategy and prioritization on investment decisions and standards
  • Partner with local finance teams and individuals at all levels of the Corporation (Regional CFOs, Group CFOs, GOC leaders, Supply Chain leadership, etc.) using impact analytics and executive framing to ensure the appropriate footprint decisions are taken for the enterprise
  • Support business case development for all non-supply chain Real Estate projects in North America and Latin America
  • Leading and coordination of overall budgeting process for the global real estate Business Plan (BP), forecast updates, Long Range Financial Plan (LRFP), latest thinking, and actual reporting, including submissions and coordination/preparation of stakeholder material for global E&PS reviews.
  • Provide timely communication of key deadlines to regional real estate finance teams to drive clear expectations for forecast cycles/LT/Financial close that will enable delivery of financial commitments.
  • Deliver all actuals reporting requirements (quarter close responsibilities) including preparation of journal entries and providing commentary for variances versus plan.
  • Provide financial leadership and guidance by applying strong financial acumen and process insights to advise business partners and finance teams.
  • Promote & support financial awareness and education for business partners
  • Support continuous improvement/radical simplicity mindset (leverage technology, process standardization & improvements, and best practices).
