About The Position

The Capital Markets Senior Financial Analyst supports transactions generated by Cushman & Wakefield’s Investment Sales brokerage services across multiple product types. The role performs complex financial analysis, including pricing, creating Excel valuation models, creating and auditing Argus Enterprise models, abstracting leases, and collecting and reviewing due diligence. The analyst translates findings into high-level summaries for Capital Markets brokers. The ideal candidate is based in Los Angeles and available to work on-site in a local Cushman & Wakefield office. Team members may be expected to travel and work outside normal operating hours depending on the product types and markets they service and to meet project deadlines. The role also supports final marketing materials and transaction underwriting, quality control, analyst training, process improvement, and the use of AI tools and emerging technologies to improve financial analysis and workflow processes.

Requirements

Three to four years of commercial real estate financial analysis and cash flow modeling experience.
Extensive experience with Argus Enterprise and other discounted cash flow tools.
Strong knowledge of real estate financial concepts and cash flow underwriting fundamentals.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.
Strong critical-thinking and analytical skills, with close attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong time-management and organizational skills.
Ability to balance and prioritize multiple priorities in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Ability to navigate challenges with a positive, solution-oriented mindset.

Nice To Haves

Capital Markets experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, or a related field is preferred.
A combination of education without a degree and corporate work experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

Lead the execution of complex financial analysis and modeling requests.
Analyze property rent rolls and operating statements to assess sale feasibility and valuation.
Prepare pro forma statements, discounted cash flow analyses, and Excel-based financial models using current and historical market conditions.
Audit financial models for accurate inputs and valid assumptions, and identify data gaps.
Review and summarize tenant leases and clearly communicate issues and concerns.
Conduct market research and synthesize findings about property and market conditions.
Collect and evaluate due diligence for sales transactions, identify necessary inquiries, and communicate them to clients to support timely and accurate analyses.
Present analysis findings clearly and compellingly, answer clarifying questions, and make timely and accurate revisions to final work products.
Develop high-level analysis summaries that identify transaction considerations, trends, outliers, and logical inconsistencies.
Assist with preparing final marketing materials and underwriting for sales transactions.
Perform quality control reviews to ensure work is thorough, complete, and within scope; identify recurring themes and lead follow-up training and actions.
Assist in training and developing other analysts, including developing training resources and materials.
Support process improvement and automation initiatives by communicating opportunities, suggesting solutions, and participating in project task teams and user acceptance testing as needed.
Use AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and quality of financial analysis and workflow processes.
Track and develop working knowledge of real estate fundamentals and industry trends.
Perform other related duties as required or requested.
