About The Position

Lead the financial planning process and related reporting and analysis for Ashley Furniture Develop key strategic and financial reporting tools for operations and senior management Direct a team of financial analysts supporting budget, reporting, and analysis functions Partner with location controllers, accountants, general managers, and lead vice presidents on financial performance and profit improvements

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (or equivalent work experience)
3+ years of related accounting/finance experience
Moderate domestic travel capability
Flexible schedule with willingness to work extended hours when necessary
Strong financial accounting knowledge
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
Sound mathematical and statistical skills
Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization
Interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formats
Record management expertise
Handle multiple projects simultaneously within established time constraints
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Display empathy, understanding, and patience with employees and external customers
Respond professionally in situations with difficult employee/vendor/customer issues

Responsibilities

Lead the annual budget and periodic forecasting processes
Continuously improve financial planning processes and procedures
Monitor monthly results and compare with business objectives and plans
Report key variances with supportive action plans
Prepare presentations for senior management on business results, budgets, forecasts, and focus areas
Oversee monthly financial results and metrics reporting to owners and executive team
Monitor divisional, location, and functional area performance results
Track cost savings, reductions, and improvement initiatives
Develop key financial and analytical measures for operations and senior management
Improve financial reporting formats to present results and trends effectively
Work with business leaders to ensure understanding of metrics and financial results
Lead and direct a team of approximately 3-4 financial analysts
Make employment decisions including hiring, promotions, corrective actions, terminations, and pay adjustments
Coordinate and manage team work to meet departmental goals
Manage employee performance through coaching, mentoring, and performance reviews
Recommend, plan, and implement employee training and skill development activities
Conduct weekly team meetings and regular individual employee meetings
Audit regularly to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures
Maintain accurate employee time-keeping and absentee records
Lead and improve departmental performance measures using Continuous Improvement tools
Improve working conditions and processes (safety, quality, productivity, cost)
Direct employees to participate in improvement programs
Manage resources to optimize equipment, facilities, employees, methods, and materials
Support and ensure Ashley Furniture policies and procedures are followed
Participate in departmental meetings, training, and education
Assist with training other employees and provide backup coverage
Complete other assignments and special projects as requested
