About The Position

Cambrian Credit Union is seeking a Senior Financial Advisor to join their dynamic Wealth Management Team. The Senior Financial Advisor (SFA) is responsible for managing and growing an assigned Aviso Wealth Investment division portfolio of valued members. The SFA works closely within an assigned region of Cambrian retail branches, SME account managers, and partner wealth advisors, focused towards external asset consolidation of existing members and to deliver comprehensive advice with ongoing service. The incumbent is a proven sales leader by excelling in developing, managing and growing client relationships. The SFA delivers highly specialized advice and consultation using a focused member experience based on financial planning concepts - supportive of the added value in achieving the client’s financial objectives. The Senior Financial Advisor provides expertise in strategies and solutions for clients - retirement planning, wealth preservation, milestone & succession planning, and tax planning. The SFA supports and promotes Aviso Discretionary Asset Managed Solutions as the primary portfolio solution.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree, diploma or certificate in business, commerce or equivalent business experience
  • Minimum five years of Investment Advisory experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial products and investment markets accessible to a Canadian Investor.
  • Hold license in good standing, or ability to satisfy licensing requirements within designated timelines
  • Having either Certified Financial Planner or Personal Financial Planner designation or completion within 36 months of assuming the role.
  • Ability to work well in an environment with multiple and often changing priorities

Responsibilities

  • Utilize a consultative approach and effectively incorporate use of financial planning tools (Conquest Planning) to develop plans and recommendations to meet the member investing and financial planning goals based on a focused holistic member experience.
  • Manage and grow an assigned portfolio of valued members (household investment portfolios greater than $350,000); develop methods and processes to ensure members are contacted on a regular basis; ensure strategy aligns to unique life stage and risk profile of the member; make recommendations on adjustments to portfolio, as required; and drive asset consolidation among members by helping members implement the recommended financial plan within Cambrian’s wealth management products.
  • Develop external business referral sources through networking, marketing, and your centers of influence, and Cambrian’s Salesforces marketing cloud.
  • Be highly focused on business development; successfully building collaborative working relationships with retail and digital branches, small business and commercial account managers to identify current and potential members with investment and financial planning needs; identify and assist in developing opportunities for retail banking products and services with Cambrian’s partners.
  • Promote and refer members to Aviso’s self-serve digital wealth solutions.
  • Keep up to date with the overall economic and financial environment, current events, market conditions, trends, and changes to legislation and product platforms in an area that is subject to frequent change.
  • Provide expertise in dealing with high value clients, each with specific needs and circumstances requiring a unique financial analysis and plan to meet their short term and long-term financial requirements.
  • Provide leadership for the delivery of service excellence to member in all areas of their contact with Cambrian Credit Union.
  • Assist and support to the Vice-President, Wealth & Advisory Services as deemed necessary or as required (e.g. undertake tasks or duties as assigned).
