We currently have an exciting opportunity as a Senior Financial Accountant. This role is based in our corporate office on Nuns' Island, Montreal, QC on a hybrid work model (Tuesday to Thursday in the office), and reports to the Manager, Financial Accounting. Reporting to the Manager, Financial Accounting, the Senior Financial Accountant has a central role in maintaining the integrity of the financial information for IPEX North American Group of operations. As the Senior Financial Accountant, you will ensure the timely and accurate recording of information in compliance with IFRS accounting standards, and drive process improvements that maximize efficiency of the accounting cycle. Requirements

  • CPA Designation
  • 3 – 5 years of accounting experience
  • Proactive, and a problem-solver
  • Excellent organizational skills, thorough and detail-orientated, and self-motivated.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, multiple currencies and multiple entity environment
  • Prior experience working in external audit (Big 4)
  • Knowledge of Accounting Systems/ERP (SAP S/4HANA as an asset)
  • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
  • Adaptable and flexible in a changing environment
  • Bilingual (Fluent in English and French)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working within a global setting or in a manufacturing environment, an asset
  • Experience with US and Canadian regulations (Sales Taxes, Payroll, and Reporting), an asset

Responsibilities

  • Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close process for the IPEX North America Group operations while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Perform accounting reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial data, including but limited to inter-company transactions, IFRS 16 – Leases, various liabilities accounts, FX Revaluation, and others.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, variance analysis, and analytical reviews.
  • Collaborate with the ERP implementation team to ensure a smooth ERP system transition with minimal disruptions to financial reporting.
  • Coordinate with Shared Service functions (Accounts Payable, Account Receivable, Costing, Financial Planning & Analysis, Business Partners, Tax, Treasury and Transfer Pricing, Internal controls, and other) by monitoring workflow and ensuring accurate and timely processing within company standards.
  • Assist the reporting team and the financial planning and analysis team, with our annual budget and forecasting process, variance analysis and management reporting.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
  • Key contributor in internal and external audits (Big 4).
  • Researching accounting issues for compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • In coordination with tax and legal departments, assists in the completion of proper statutory reporting.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and system enhancements.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to colleagues with less experience.
