About The Position

Google’s Finance team is undertaking a multi-year transformation to build standard, automated, agentic-first processes that improve efficiency, provide deeper insights, and strengthen Finance’s role as a strategic partner. Finance Solutions and Transformation supports end-to-end Finance transformation across people, processes, tools, and data, leveraging Google’s AI capabilities. The Senior Finance Systems Analyst bridges SAP and foundational systems capabilities with Finance process transformation plans, coordinating with Business, Engineering, and Data and Analytics teams. The role supports strategic decisions and long-term roadmaps, evaluates how technology can address operational challenges, and balances risk, speed, and cost. Success requires building strong cross-functional relationships, navigating ambiguity and tight deadlines, and staying informed about ERP vendors and industry practices.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent practical experience.
10 years of experience in business systems analysis, systems implementation, or product management within corporate financial systems.
5 years of experience leading functional architecture or transformation programs specifically in a SAP S/4HANA environment, spanning FI-GL, Asset Accounting, CO, Project Systems, or Treasury.
Experience translating business strategy and accounting or finance needs into technical roadmaps and engineering specifications.
Experience partnering with Engineering to drive the full software development life cycle, including business blueprinting, requirements elicitation, authoring functional specifications, user journey mapping, and UAT governance.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree, MBA, CPA, or SAP S/4HANA Finance functional certifications.
Experience managing and steering external Systems Integrator partners alongside internal software engineering resources to execute complex roadmaps.
Experience implementing AI, RPA, and other automation technologies.
Knowledge of accounting and core Finance processes, including standard finance systems such as SAP and BlackLine.
Strong familiarity with integrating S/4HANA with modern cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform or BigQuery, proprietary custom software, and external third-party tools via APIs and middleware.
Familiarity with Signavio and other process mapping and orchestration tools to support architecture assessments and identify improvement opportunities.

Responsibilities

Partner with global Finance teams to evaluate SAP S/4HANA capabilities and translate long-term transformation visions into structured, executable systems roadmaps with Engineering partners.
Translate complex business requirements into functional specifications, system diagrams, and user stories, bridging non-technical stakeholders and technical delivery teams.
Work with Finance, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to document needs, identify gaps, propose improvements, and build consensus on business requirements.
Evaluate current operating model environments across Finance to identify areas for improvement or change based on best practices.
Communicate project status, risks, and remediation plans to executive stakeholders.
