About The Position

Equus Software, a rapidly growing technology company, is looking for a dynamic Senior Finance Operations Specialist to join our growing operational team. We are headquartered in Denver, with offices in Dallas, London, Lisbon and Manila. For Finance, this professional will be responsible for crucial financial and accounting activities, including cash forecasting, financial analysis, sales, use and property tax reporting, client contract compliance and billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable oversight and operational processes and reporting. This role also includes assisting the Controller in reporting required for annual reviews and tax reporting such as revenue recognition, depreciation schedules, cash to accrual accounting and intercompany reconciliation. For HR, key areas within the HR department will be administered in conjunction with senior managers, including policy and procedure compliance and development and maintenance of HR best practices. This role will also help oversee the global based accounting, HR, and administration in our other office locations. The role will report to the Global Finance and Office Manager in the US. Our ideal candidate will be highly motivated and an independent self-starter that possesses exceptional teamwork and organization skills and is well-versed in working closely with department management and senior executives. Flexibility, energy and attention to detail are important characteristics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of finance, accounting or related experience (GAAP knowledge is a plus).
  • 2+ years of human resources experience, including payroll.
  • Financial reporting experience (experience with CPA reviews a plus).
  • Proficient computer skills on all Microsoft Office, including advanced knowledge of Excel formulas.
  • Strong experience with QuickBooks Online (required).
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Creative with an ability to suggest and implement improvements.
  • Ability and willingness to work closely within all levels of the business, from staff to executive officers.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Bill.com and Wrike is a plus.
  • Experience working in a SaaS or tech company is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and process client billing in alignment with contract specifics.
  • Ensure a timely and accurate collection process.
  • Oversee policies and entry of accounts payables and expense reimbursements.
  • Assist in generation and review of periodic financial reports.
  • Assist in the process of report generation as needed for annual tax preparation.
  • Preparation of bank reconciliations.
  • Assist in process of cash flow management, budgeting/ forecasting.
  • Assist in client renewals including invoicing, contract preparation, client requests for information, working with the legal and IT department to ensure compliance.
  • Manage the preparation and process of payroll for global personnel.
  • Assist in oversight of benefits enrollment and management.
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures.
  • Manage contract, service and price negotiations with landlords, office vendors and service providers.
  • Support leadership with financial or legal related research.
  • Other duties as requested in line with the financial, HR and operational support function.
