About The Position

Hippocratic AI is hiring for a high-impact, foundational role on its Strategic Finance team, supporting leadership during a period of rapid growth and increasing financial complexity. The role partners with business units, data science, accounting, platform engineering, LLM, GTM, HR, and recruiting teams to build and manage company-wide financial forecasts, analyze business performance, and identify cost optimization opportunities. The posting describes the position as a Senior Finance Manager, though its introductory paragraph refers to a Senior Financial Analyst. The role owns consolidation and reporting for the company’s three-statement financial model, revenue and operating expense forecasts, balance sheet and cash flow forecasts, and gross margin modeling and analysis. It forecasts and reports on cost of goods sold—including GPU and cloud costs, telephony, ASR, TTS, and customer success—as well as headcount, contractor, software, and general and administrative expenses. The position also prepares actual-versus-budget commentary, business KPI reporting, board and investor materials, and spend analysis. This role is expected to work from the Menlo Park office five days per week unless otherwise specified.

Requirements

7–9 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or strategic finance/FP&A at a high-growth technology company.
Undergraduate degree in a quantitative field.
Very strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with willingness to work with granular quantitative data.
Strong business judgment and ability to work cross-functionally on ambiguous questions and drive accountability with business counterparts.
High degree of ownership and independence; ability to manage multiple priorities, create driver-based forecasts and models, and proactively identify business opportunities and risks.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to turn complex analysis into actionable recommendations and adapt messaging to different audiences.
AI-first mindset and willingness to learn or experience with AI applications such as Claude Cowork and building dashboards, agents, or skills to improve and automate processes.
High proficiency in Excel and experience with financial software and systems.

Responsibilities

Own consolidation and reporting of the company’s three-statement financial model.
Own consolidation of revenue and operating expense forecasts.
Own balance sheet and cash flow forecasts.
Work with accounting to maintain accuracy between the general ledger and financial model.
Prepare monthly commentary on actuals versus budget.
Report on key business KPIs and metrics driving P&L performance.
Prepare materials for board meetings and investor conversations, including presentations and models for board presentations and fundraising.
Own gross margin modeling, analysis, and reporting.
Forecast, report, analyze, and provide commentary on gross margins in partnership with platform engineering, accounting, and GTM teams.
Build and own forecasts for COGS items, including GPU and cloud, telephony, ASR, TTS, and customer success costs.
Own GPU, non-GPU cloud cost, and human evaluation modeling and reporting.
Work with platform engineering and LLM teams to maintain a forecast of GPUs required for inference and training.
Build forecasts for non-GPU cloud costs and human evaluation.
Provide commentary on plan-versus-actual performance and trends in overall costs and unit economics.
Own headcount forecasts and reconciliations in partnership with HR.
Work with recruiting to maintain headcount cost forecasts by department and team.
Provide monthly plan-versus-actual variance analysis.
Own forecasts and optimization for contractor, software, and G&A spending.
Forecast expenses and provide detailed commentary by department in partnership with business owners and accounting.
Track and capture weekly spend desk requests.
