About The Position

As a Senior Finance Manager, you will be part of a dedicated team based in Mississauga, Ontario and reporting to the Senior Finance Director, Canada. As a member of the Finance Team, you will work closely with all groups throughout the Tools & Outdoor teams (T&O) providing analytical support to annual strategic plans, promotions and product launches for all categories. The Senior Finance Manager liaisons with all teams to ensure alignment and consistency and performs ongoing analysis of results versus OP and respective forecasts.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree in Finance, Accounting or Business
  • Accounting Designation (CPA) or MBA accreditation
  • Strong Business acumen / industry knowledge
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Strong organization, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High energy/self-motivation
  • Able to adapt with change and work under pressure in a detailed, accurate, and deadline-based environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a CPG or manufacturing industry a strong preference
  • Experience managing teams with a strong coaching and mentoring philosophy
  • Experience with HFM, Hyperion Planning and SAP beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Finance Support for $600M in Sales for Home Depot, Rona, Canadian Tire, Amazon, Royalties
  • Total Customer P&L Management (Revenue, RSA, G2N, Merch, Free Goods and OPEX) inclusive of month end close, routines and analysis, monthly demand reviews, quarterly forecast reviews, and operating plan requirements
  • Provide regular reporting and provide insights into financial risks and opportunities
  • Lead finance role in supporting financial analysis of NPD, pricing discounts and promos and brand or product growth
  • Involved in month-end routines, working with controllership, FP&A and commercial teams to ensure the overall validity of financial statements for retail.
  • Financials for Retail annual contract renegotiations inclusive of net sales and margin accretion objectives for upcoming years
  • Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly projections and variance analysis versus Operating Plan, Quarterly Forecasts and Prior Year
  • Will conduct ad hoc analysis to improve business performance for the SBUs and overall business (including – but not limited to – Strat Plan, Month-end results calls, PRB’s, SBU P&L requests, process improvements)
  • Will be responsible for developing cross functional relationships (Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, multiple US teams) in order to help marketing achieve its targets
  • Provide training to marketing staff on financial processes
