About The Position

First Finish is seeking a Senior Finance Manager to lead the financial operations of our hospitality construction business. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this individual will oversee the month-end close, work-in-process reporting, financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and project-related accounting activities. This is a highly visible leadership role that will partner closely with divisional executives and operational leaders. We are looking for a proactive finance leader who anticipates business needs, identifies emerging risks and opportunities, and provides the financial insight necessary to support sound decision-making, profitable growth, and operational discipline.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
  • 10-15 years of relevant experience in the construction industry.
  • Previous experience as a Senior Finance Manager or in a comparable financial leadership role within a small to midsized construction company.
  • Deep knowledge of construction accounting, GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, financial-statement preparation, and work-in-process reporting.
  • Strong understanding of construction operations, project financials, and cost-to-complete management.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Procore and/or CMiC is preferred.
  • Public accounting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the division’s finance and accounting operations while managing and developing the construction finance team.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and intercompany accounts.
  • Manage project accounting activities, including payables, receivables, billings, collections, and cash-flow monitoring.
  • Lead the preparation and review of work-in-process reports, project projections, cost-to-complete forecasts, and profitability analyses.
  • Participate in WIP and project-review meetings, providing actionable financial guidance to project and operational leaders.
  • Own the division’s budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and management-reporting processes.
  • Serve as a strategic financial partner to divisional executives by identifying trends, risks, and opportunities and recommending appropriate actions.
  • Prepare financial analyses, business-review materials, and executive-level reporting to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Coordinate financial and compliance information required by the parent company, external auditors, insurance providers, and legal partners.
  • Strengthen financial controls and improve processes related to closing, reporting, project accounting, billing, collections, and forecasting.
