The Margin Strategy and Investment Optimization (MSIO) team is an exciting and fast-evolving finance team at the forefront of Microsoft’s cloud-first strategy. The Cloud Infrastructure Operations finance team is seeking a Senior Finance Manager to partner with the Data Center Operations team in AMERS (US/CAN/LATAM), providing COGS and Capex financial leadership and transparency for Microsoft’s cloud operations in the region. Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 6+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience OR Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 8+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance work experience OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year(s) experience in multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles.
  • 1+ year(s) work experience in matrix-based organization.
  • 1+ year(s) work experience in the technology or software industry.
  • Ability to collaborate and be comfortable dealing with ambiguity, influencing across multiple complex organization, and creating effecting partnerships.
  • Ability to achieve results through both individual and cross team efforts, to manage multiple projects at the same time, and to work effectively under deadline constraints.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial modeling and analysis.
  • Problem-solving attitude.
  • Experience in influencing decisions and developing strategic plans.
  • Ability to "think outside the box" and not be hindered by how things have been done in the past.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic and trusted advisor to the data center operation leaders in AMERS to influence business direction, operational support, and investment models.
  • Model and analyze key strategic drivers to influence and drive future year planning decisions and strategic activities, specifically in relation data center operations.
  • Monitor trends and key drivers, proactively recommending course of action.
  • Own orchestrating budget, forecasts, LRP, monthly close, and workforce planning, in alignment with corporate and MSIO timelines for the AMERS region.
  • Communicate required deliverables clearly and facilitate reviews with senior leaders in a timely manner.
  • Ensure monthly financial results are stated accurately and in accordance with company policies. Ensure adequate internal controls are in place.
  • Continuously improve processes to drive automation, efficiency, prioritization, and cross team collaboration.
  • Collaborate with manager to identify high impact projects that will drive business success and align to your personal development goals.
