About The Position

AWS S3/Glacier Finance seeks a world class Senior Finance Manager for the Object Storage (S3) business. This position will serve as a strategic leader who work closely with senior leadership to drive thoughtful analysis and controllership in the S3 services space. Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a highly reliable, scalable, low-cost infrastructure platform in the cloud that powers hundreds of thousands of enterprise, government and start-up business and organizations in over 190 countries around the world. Launched in 2006, Amazon Web Services officially began offering developer customers access to web services – now widely known as cloud computing – based on Amazon’s own back-end technology platform.

Requirements

• 10+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
• 10+ years of positions that require analysis and reporting financial results experience
• 8+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
• 8+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
• 8+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field

• 5+ years of hiring, leading and developing teams experience
• 8+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
• 8+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
• 8+ years of mentoring junior finance and/or business team members experience
• 5+ years of working with senior staff (e.g. c-suite) experience
• MBA, or CPA

Responsibilities

• Manage capital spend reporting, track KPIs, and perform variance analysis across planning, forecasting, and reporting cycles.
• Set and track critical business goals that are key inputs to pricing decisions across Storage and other AWS services.
• Contribute to driving improved AWS free cash flows.
• Build complex financial models and analytical tools to set and track overall financial performance against goals.
• Lead OP and R&O CapEx planning, and weekly/monthly utilization and CapEx reviews with AWS senior leadership.
• Be a thought leader to improve and simplify processes, drive standardization, and build scalable solutions to support business growth.
• Lead a team of Finance Managers and Senior Financial Analysts.
• Build and develop a high-performing team capable of operating in a complex, fast-paced, and ambiguous environment.
