About The Position

This role is designed as a growth-oriented opportunity with a clear succession pathway, offering the chance to develop into the Finance Director position over time. The primary responsibility will be managing day-to-day payroll, accounts payable, and core accounting functions. The Senior Finance and Accounting Analyst will lead essential financial operations, partner across the organization to strengthen financial systems, enhance data and analytics capabilities, and drive continuous improvement in internal controls. We are seeking a detail-oriented, collaborative professional with strong experience and leadership ability committed to process improvement and energized by contributing to a high-performing, mission-driven team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of seven years of increasing responsibility in accounting in a similar organization.
  • Minimum of five years of supervision experience.
  • Advanced spreadsheet/data management skills.
  • Payroll and AP experience required.
  • System automation experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day payroll, accounts payable, and core accounting functions.
  • Lead essential financial operations including payroll, accounts payable, and accounting processes.
  • Partner across the organization to strengthen financial systems, enhance data and analytics capabilities, and drive continuous improvement in internal controls.
  • Process invoices, reimbursements, and payments accurately and on time, ensuring proper approvals, coding, and documentation.
  • Maintain organized, audit-ready AP records and resolve discrepancies.
  • Manage semi-monthly payroll, including timesheet review, payroll changes, deductions, and coordination with HR and benefits.
  • Administer payments to vendors and benefits providers, including urgent/off-cycle payments.
  • Maintain payroll records, reports, and compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and prepare journal entries.
  • Process deposits, code credit card transactions, and maintain supporting documentation.
  • Monitor banking activity, investigate discrepancies, and address payment issues (e.g., stop payments).
  • Ensure adherence to financial policies, internal controls, and confidentiality standards.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational procedures.
  • Standardize and document financial processes and SOPs to support training and continuity.
  • Lead automation of AP, payroll, and reimbursements, including system-based approvals.
  • Partner with IT and cross-functional teams to improve systems and efficiency.
  • Develop financial reports and analytics to support leadership decision-making.
  • Analyze payroll, staffing, and expense trends; support budgeting, forecasting, and grant processes.
  • Strengthen internal controls, monitor policies, and identify financial risks.
  • Lead and support automation and strategic initiatives (e.g., housing payments, program payroll services).
  • Collaborate across departments to improve processes, documentation, and data accessibility.
