About The Position

The ‘Senior Financial Analyst – Cost Accounting’ position is a key member of the Enterprise Finance Global Cost Accounting Team, holding global responsibility for costing-related functions across regions and ERP platforms. This role is primarily responsible for managing variance explanation, allocation, and pass-through at GSC manufacturing sites and related month-end close processes, referred to as the commercial ‘pass through’ process. The position will work cross-functionally with GSC operations & finance, commercial selling divisions, and other elements of the R&C Cost Team. The position will regularly work with SW business units in the creation and explanation of standard costs, passed variances, and monthly financial results, driving transparency and profitability for commercial groups. This position is not hybrid/remote and will be located at our Global Headquarters in Cleveland, OH. A review of criminal history is necessary for this role due to access to confidential financial information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration with a focus in Finance or Accounting
  • 3+ years of finance and/or accounting experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Access
  • Experience with OneStream
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future for employment visa status
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance or an MBA with a focus in Accounting, Finance
  • CPA or CMA certification
  • Experience with the QAD and Oracle ERP platforms
  • Experience in cost development and accounting
  • Experience working cross-functionally and multi-nationally
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel.
  • Standard Costing methodology
  • Experience with developing reporting and monthly variance accounting
  • Oracle ERP working experience

Responsibilities

  • Monthly calculation and various month end close entries to allocate manufacturing variances to business units utilizing a variety of concepts.
  • Review and allocate outside buy PPV and complete various monthly reporting.
  • Manage raw material vendor rebate program including monthly accrual, review vendor payment processing and reconciliation, and quarterly meetings with Global Procurement.
  • Assist in review and development of annual raw material standard costs, vendor credit, toller overbill, usage, and polymer tech rates.
  • Complete monthly reporting for management.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist in identifying and enacting enhancements which can drive standardization and efficiency.
  • Special projects, as assigned, such as standardizing the ‘pass through’ process to out-of-scope regions.
  • Other cost accounting tasks & responsibilities, as assigned.
