About The Position

The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for providing financial leadership, support and analysis to several key early and late-stage development compounds within the Oncology Therapeutic Area. The position is responsible for all financial aspects related to the projects and functional budgets for their assigned compounds.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required, preferably with a major in Accounting or Finance.
  • A minimum of three (3) years finance or related business experience is required.
  • Must possess excellent analytical (MS Excel), conceptual, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to think creatively and work in a team environment is required.
  • The ability to effectively take on leadership roles in various functions is required.
  • The ability to navigate through ambiguity is required.
  • Must work well in a fast-paced environment and be able to recommend and implement process improvements, work independently, and handle several tasks simultaneously.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA, CPA, CMA, or other financial certifications is preferred.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device industries as well as public accounting is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively partner with Compound Development Teams (CDT) and Project Management Teams (PMT) to align financial targets, analyze the value of project investments, and address business issues
  • Manage all aspects of financial updates including Business Plan and Long Range Financial Plan and ensure the accuracy and compliance of monthly forecasting and closing cycles
  • Pipeline valuation models for their compounds, which includes partnering with CDT/PMT, Commercial, Global Strategic Marketing, Operations and Tax
  • Support of Portfolio Reviews and ad-hoc valuation support to key stakeholders across the Pharmaceutical R&D, Operations and Strategic Marketing organization
  • Partner with Business Development in support of External Innovation and L&A/M&A projects
  • The ability to challenge business assumptions, develop alternative scenarios and educate business partners on financial issues and concepts will be required.
  • The candidate must demonstrate strong financial leadership by providing recommendations for improving the value of the financial information supplied to upper management, providing guidance to business partners, and executing the process for all development forecast and worldwide valuation updates for his/her compounds.
