Senior Field Technician - Construction Materials Testing
About The Position
Intertek is seeking a Senior Field Technician to join their Professional Services Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) team in Houston, Texas. This role offers a career growth opportunity in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry. Intertek-PSI is a leading US provider of construction assurance, testing, and inspection services, offering a wide range of services including construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing. The Senior Field Technician will perform various testing, project-specific observations, and site assessment duties under general supervision and/or detailed controlled procedures.
Requirements
- 5 years' experience as a field technician / inspector in construction materials testing
- NICET Level II OR TXDOT Level 1A, 1B AND SB102 certifications
- Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record
- Ability to travel up to 25%
- Ability to work off shifts and overtime
- Ability to lift, move, push and pull up to 50 pounds frequently; Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance
- Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound
- Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures
- Ability to climb occasionally, and work at various heights
Nice To Haves

- NICET Level II Soil, Concrete, & Asphalt
- ICC and PT Level I / Level II
Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain and calibrate testing equipment
- Conduct soil and/or concrete testing
- Provide an assessment of data through reporting
- Utilize drawings, specifications and diagrams
- Read and interpret plans and specifications
- Use specific methods to observe site activities and perform tasks and complex assignments
- Make detailed observations
- Give interpretation of results
- Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results
- Communicate effectively with client and project teams
- Attend project meetings
