Intertek is seeking a Senior Field Technician to join their Professional Services Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) team in Houston, Texas. Intertek-PSI is a leading US-based provider of construction assurance, testing, and inspection in civil and commercial construction, offering services such as construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing. The Senior Field Technician will perform various testing, project-specific observations, and site assessment duties under general supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures.

Requirements

5 years' experience as a field technician / inspector in construction materials testing
NICET Level II OR TXDOT Level 1A, 1B AND SB102 certifications
Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record
Ability to travel up to 25%
Ability to work off shifts and overtime
Ability to lift, move, push and pull up to 50 pounds frequently; Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance
Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound
Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures
Ability to climb occasionally, and work at various heights

Nice To Haves

NICET Level II Soil, Concrete, & Asphalt
ICC and PT Level I / Level II

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of testing, project-specific observations, and site assessment duties under general supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures.
Operate, maintain and calibrate testing equipment.
Conduct soil and/or concrete testing.
Provide an assessment of data through reporting.
Utilize drawings, specifications and diagrams.
Read and interpret plans and specifications.
Use specific methods to observe site activities and perform tasks and complex assignments.
Make detailed observations.
Give interpretation of results.
Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results.
Communicate effectively with client and project teams.
Attend project meetings.
