About The Position

Premier Food Supplies (PFS), a leading distributor in the food and beverage industry for over 20 years, is seeking a Senior Field Sales Representative. This role involves managing a sales territory, visiting clients, understanding their needs, and driving sales growth. The representative will also support collections, build strong client relationships, identify new business opportunities in the Indian food market, and analyze sales data. Collaboration with business strategy and marketing teams is key, as is staying informed about market trends and competitors. The position requires technology adoption assistance for customers and participation in field marketing activities. Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of field sales experience in food & beverage, hospitality, distribution, or FMCG/CPG.
  • Bilingual in English and Hindi.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office or Google Suite.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean record.
  • Willing to travel up to 75%.
  • Capable of occasionally lifting up to 60 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Indian or South Asian food & beverage sales.
  • Additional South Asian languages.
  • Previous work experience in South Asian (Indian) grocery or restaurant sales.
  • Familiarity with diverse markets; adept at working in fast-paced settings.
  • Previous experience with desktop and/or tablet-based sales order management tools (e.g. Quickbooks, Sage, Netsuite, SAP, Odoo).

Responsibilities

  • Consistently collect and grow weekly sales orders from assigned accounts.
  • Regularly visit clients and conduct follow-up calls to assess needs, manage inventory, enhance sales through upselling/cross-selling, promote trials/samples, and maintain promotion awareness.
  • Master product knowledge to provide tailored recommendations.
  • Support the collections team in securing timely payments from accounts, including necessary follow-ups.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with grocery and restaurant clients, advising on planogram planning, product selections, and order processes.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the Indian food market.
  • Address customer inquiries and resolve issues swiftly, logging and tracking significant concerns for resolution.
  • Analyze sales data to increase market share and wallet size.
  • Stay informed about market trends and competitors, providing regular insights and reports to management.
  • Collaborate with the business strategy team to implement sales insights in daily account management.
  • Participate in field marketing activities, product demos, and industry events to penetrate new markets.
  • Engage in cold calling to generate new client leads.
  • Provide management with reports on customer needs, potential new products or services, and competitive activities.
  • Assist customers in adopting new technologies and e-commerce platforms.
  • Perform additional duties as required to meet business needs.
