About The Position

This position is responsible for the investigation and settlement of Personal property damage claims. The role involves accepting claims, working with customers and vendors to resolve claims efficiently, managing moderate to complex personal property claims, confirming policy coverage, maintaining detailed file records, processing claims payments, and initiating salvage and subrogation procedures.

Requirements

• Post-secondary education (degree or diploma), CIP designation (or in progress), or relevant property handling experience
• Minimum 8 years of property claims handling experience
• Experience scoping and estimating losses
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Professional, friendly and courteous in all interactions, whether with customers or co-workers
• Perform well in a busy operation and remains calm under pressure
• Team player adaptable to a changing environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with CICS, IMS, Xactimate and CDS system is an asset

Responsibilities

• Accepting notice of claims and working with customers and preferred vendors to resolve claims quickly and efficiently
• Managing moderate to complex personal property claims
• Confirming policy coverage by ensuring the facts of the claim fall within the scope of Definity claims policies
• Maintaining detailed file records by entering pertinent data into the appropriate systems
• Processing claims payments within level of authority after verifying claimants’ entitlements
• Initiating salvage and subrogation procedures on assigned files
