About The Position

The Senior Field Operations Manager will report directly to the Region 4 Director, Field Operations and will be responsible for the oversight of a subset of sites within the region. Currently, this includes 6 sites in Colorado and New Mexico (with potential future growth). The base salary for this position is dependent upon experience and location. Locations: NM or CO Salary Range: New Mexico - $158,000 to $176,400 Colorado - $144,000 to $160,400

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience with plant operations, including performance monitoring, major maintenance, plant breakdown analysis, and OEM warranty administration.
  • 3+ years’ management experience in electric power generation, industrial operations, or project management.
  • Knowledge of safety laws, environmental laws, labor laws, contracts, claims avoidance, insurance, and permit compliance.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, including effective negotiating and dispute resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of management, supervision and administration.
  • Knowledge of budget preparation, implementation, and oversight.
  • Proficiency using personal computer tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP or other Enterprise Management Systems.
  • 60-70% travel required.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical competence and recent experience regarding renewable generation.
  • Plant or Regional generation manager experience.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who intend to live within the Area boundaries and in proximity of the sites, however, will accept applicants who live near a major airport and have the ability to get to sites within the region within 3 hours.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Regional Director to develop goals, objectives, policies, and priorities appropriate to a world-class renewable generation O&M division.
  • Ensure that all facility operations and staff maintain a high level of health, safety and environmental awareness and performance.
  • Make regular plant visits and timely communicate and appropriately manage any site or staffing issues that may arise.
  • Develop and foster teamwork both within and outside the area of responsibility to meet operational and organizational goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for employee development and implementation and facilitation of long-term succession planning within the area of responsibility.
  • Oversee operations and supporting staff utilized during new project and/or re power construction and the associated transition to commercial operations.
  • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate performance of employees.
  • Develop, implement and manage business strategies to optimize site profitability, including but not limited to cost management and production improvements.
  • Incorporate continuous feedback from existing and new projects and benchmarking information where available to ensure that Avangrid Renewables maintains a competitive position in the market relative to O&M costs.
  • Ensures all relevant internal controls are followed and develops new controls as needed.
