About The Position

SAIC is seeking a Senior Field Engineer in Portsmouth, VA. The role builds and tests hardware and software for Windows- and Nutanix-based systems, supports system sustainment, and serves as a local on-site representative to the customer organization. The position participates in on-site system integrations and develops or updates system and process documentation as needed. Up to 25% CONUS/OCONUS travel is required.

Requirements

Related bachelor's degree and nine or more years of experience, or a master's degree and seven or more years of experience.
Technical training in electronics, computers, or networking, or successful completion of U.S. Navy electronics “C” school.
Experience in C4I systems environments, including systems requirements, operational requirements, and test and evaluation.
Must be able to obtain a CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CASP certification within six months of hire.
Must have an active Secret security clearance to start and be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
Experience building and installing infrastructure.
Must be able to obtain a U.S. passport.
Up to 25% CONUS/OCONUS travel required.

Responsibilities

Build and test hardware and software for Windows- and Nutanix-based systems.
Patch computer and network devices.
Conduct PITCO testing and set up hardware.
Troubleshoot technical problems and determine solutions in accordance with product and customer specifications.
Troubleshoot serial connections, network connectivity, RF systems, and time systems.
Log and respond to site tickets.
Troubleshoot legacy hardware and repair units for system sustainment.
Assess product needs in accordance with customer specifications.
Act as the local on-site representative to the customer organization.
Participate in on-site system integrations.
Develop and update system and process documentation as needed.
