Senior Field Engineer - SF Bay Area
About The Position
A Senior Field Engineer (SFE) will focus on commissioning complex systems. Commissioning involves the testing and fine tuning of all the equipment in the system to ensure it is working well, independently and as a system, per the design intent. The SFE will travel to the customer’s site, and ensure the system is installed, setup and operating as designed. The SFE should be able to solve issues as they arise and be able to communicate with the team as needed. This position will mentor other FE’s and assist other FE’s through remote online support. This position is a virtual position within the SF Bay area, and only local candidates will be considered.
Requirements
- DSP Q-SYS Level 2
- 5 years AV Field Engineer experience
- Network configuration and deployment
- AVoIP experience
- Must have in-depth experience with audio, video and network-based systems and equipment
- Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems
- Excellent Verbal and Written English Skills
- Good customer service skills
- Possess a valid driver’s license in their state of residence.
Nice To Haves
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, AV Technology, or related field
- Field installation and/or system design experience is desirable
Responsibilities
- Commission systems in the field.
- Optimize all the settings in the equipment to ensure the system is operating as designed, including audio, video, displays, control and networking.
- Work closely with the system programmer to ensure the control system is functioning without issues, including remote systems work for loading new code and troubleshooting.
- May be required to regularly lead a team on large projects.
- Provide simple code and touch panel updates under the direction of the assigned programmer.
- Keep current on technology, latest firmware updates, and common field issues.
- Diagnose known and found problems and formulate solutions.
- Mentor and provide remote assistance and support to other FE’s.
- Coordinate with a wide variety of stakeholders to ensure success.
- Provide training and support for other FE’s and for the most complex systems and tasks.
