About The Position

WDF Inc., a Tutor Perini Company, is seeking a Senior Field Engineer to join our Mt Vernon, NY and NY Metro area project sites. Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Five or more years of related experience.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems (air distribution, hydronics, controls, and equipment).
  • Familiarity with construction documents, specifications, and submittal processes.
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam, and MS Project or Primavera P6.
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail with strong organizational and documentation habits.
  • Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • Experience working with a general contractor or large mechanical subcontractor strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the planning, coordination, and execution of all heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) work on construction projects.
  • Ensures that systems are installed per design specifications, project schedules, safety standards, and applicable codes.
  • Acts as a liaison between field operations, subcontractors, design teams, and project management to ensure quality and efficiency in MEP delivery.
  • Reviews drawings, specifications, and submittals for accuracy and constructability.
  • Coordinates with mechanical subcontractors, architects, engineers, and other trades to resolve design or field issues.
  • Assists with layout, installation planning, and field verification of mechanical systems.
  • Conducts site inspections and quality checks.
  • Maintains daily logs, tracks progress, and assists in preparing field reports and punch lists.
  • Verifies equipment deliveries, storage, and handling to ensure manufacturer requirements are met.
  • Assists in developing and maintaining project schedules.
  • Tracks progress of work against schedule milestones.
  • Supports cost tracking, change order documentation, and subcontractor billing verification.
  • Coordinates HVAC testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB) activities.
  • Supports commissioning documentation, start-up procedures, and turnover packages.
  • Ensures as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and warranties are properly collected and submitted.
  • Enforces site safety policies and promotes a safe work environment.
  • Ensures all HVAC work meets local building codes, energy standards, and environmental regulations.

Benefits

  • The expected salary range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 depending on experience
