About The Position
WDF Inc., a Tutor Perini Company, is seeking a Senior Field Engineer to join our Mt Vernon, NY and NY Metro area project sites. Requirements
- High School Diploma required.
- Five or more years of related experience.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems (air distribution, hydronics, controls, and equipment).
- Familiarity with construction documents, specifications, and submittal processes.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam, and MS Project or Primavera P6.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail with strong organizational and documentation habits.
- Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- Experience working with a general contractor or large mechanical subcontractor strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Supports the planning, coordination, and execution of all heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) work on construction projects.
- Ensures that systems are installed per design specifications, project schedules, safety standards, and applicable codes.
- Acts as a liaison between field operations, subcontractors, design teams, and project management to ensure quality and efficiency in MEP delivery.
- Reviews drawings, specifications, and submittals for accuracy and constructability.
- Coordinates with mechanical subcontractors, architects, engineers, and other trades to resolve design or field issues.
- Assists with layout, installation planning, and field verification of mechanical systems.
- Conducts site inspections and quality checks.
- Maintains daily logs, tracks progress, and assists in preparing field reports and punch lists.
- Verifies equipment deliveries, storage, and handling to ensure manufacturer requirements are met.
- Assists in developing and maintaining project schedules.
- Tracks progress of work against schedule milestones.
- Supports cost tracking, change order documentation, and subcontractor billing verification.
- Coordinates HVAC testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB) activities.
- Supports commissioning documentation, start-up procedures, and turnover packages.
- Ensures as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and warranties are properly collected and submitted.
- Enforces site safety policies and promotes a safe work environment.
- Ensures all HVAC work meets local building codes, energy standards, and environmental regulations.
Benefits
- The expected salary range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 depending on experience
