The Sr. Field Applications Specialist (FAS) plays a crucial role in validating new Chemistry (Chem) and/or Immunoassay (IA) instrument installations to ensure they meet Beckman Coulter and customer requirements. This role involves working directly with customer Key Operators to reinforce training, ensure proper instrument usage and maintenance, and address questions regarding instrument operation and assay performance in accordance with specifications and regulatory requirements. The FAS collaborates closely with cross-functional teams including Tech Support, Field Service, Sales, and Customer Training.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree with 3+ years in laboratory/diagnostic instrumentation or another related field (Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science background or similar)
  • Advanced understanding of Diagnostics or Healthcare Industry with heavy emphasis on Laboratory Regulatory environments (Standard Laboratory Practices, including Quality Control, record keeping, and regulatory requirements – CAP & CLIA)
  • Customer (external and internal) focused mindset with the ability to be agile and problem solve independently
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the validation of new Chemistry (Chem) and/or Immunoassay (IA) instrument installations to ensure they meet Beckman Coulter and customer stated requirements.
  • Responsible for working directly with the customer Key Operator during validation to reinforce training and ensure customer staff is properly prepared to use and maintain instrumentation.
  • Responsible for addressing customer questions and concerns regarding instrument operation and assay performance, in accordance with published specifications and regulatory body requirements.
  • Prepare customer for and complete validations studies on instrumentation including, but not limited to instrument set-up, calibration, precision studies, and method comparisons.
  • Provide both onsite and remote phone support to customers for assay and QC related questions.
  • Provide onsite training for proper operation of instrumentation.
