About The Position

Join a mission driven team dedicated to strengthening the integrity, reliability, and usability of largescale federal financial data. As a Senior Federal Financial SME specializing in data cleansing and reference data management, you will shape the standards and quality controls that power critical financial processes. You'll partner with analysts, automation teams, and system leads to assess current state data, recommend improvements that ensure accuracy across upstream and downstream workflows, and contribute to process automation. This is an ideal role for a seasoned consultant who brings both strategic insight and hands on analytical expertise, and who thrives on transforming complex, inconsistent datasets into well governed, actionable information. This position is located in our Fairfax, VA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience with federal financial data, reference data structures, and data quality practices.
  • Strong skills in data analysis, data cleansing, and development of data quality rules and requirements.
  • Ability to translate data issues into clear business and technical requirements.
  • Experience supporting testing, process improvement, SOP development, and stakeholder communications.
  • Strong analytical thinking, communication (oral/written), and stakeholder engagement.
  • Advanced Excel; functional/data analysis; teamwork and learning agility.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Critical/Analytical Thinking.
  • Communication (Oral/Written).
  • Teamwork Experience.
  • Affinity for mentorship of junior team members.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with automation/RPA, system enhancements, and Power Platform tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead data cleansing and standardization efforts, including analysis of vendor and reference data and documentation of required updates.
  • Define data quality rules, recommend configuration changes, and support testing and implementation.
  • Assess data impacts related to automation, system enhancements, and process improvements.
  • Provide clear requirements, testing support, and user focused documentation.
  • Contribute to BPR activities, update SOPs, and support change management across impacted areas.
  • Manage task plans, risks/issues, and stakeholder touchpoints.
  • Participate in client meetings and clearly document outcomes.
  • Gather requirements (business, functional and technical).
  • Follow established processes to support the implementation of new functionality or issue resolutions.
  • Develop and update system designs and training documentation as needed.
  • Drive adoption of solutions with stakeholders.
  • Coach, peer review, and train team members as needed.
