What this job involves The Senior Facilities Manager serves as the single point of contact for account administration of a 15+ site retail portfolio. This role ensures 100% facility uptime and rapid mitigation of business interruption events while maintaining seamless landlord relationships and lease administration. You'll leverage work order systems daily to deliver operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and exceptional facility services across retail locations. This leadership position combines strategic facility management with hands-on team development, requiring deep expertise in retail environments and multi-site coordination while orchestrating vendor networks and technology platforms to drive data-driven facility operations.

Requirements

  • 8-10 years of experience leading Integrated Facilities Management teams and services, preferably with retail portfolio exposure and multi-site facility management
  • Proven track record in budget management, financial oversight, and implementing cost-saving initiatives while maintaining service quality standards
  • Demonstrated vendor management expertise including developing strategic service provider networks, contract negotiation, performance management, and conducting competitive bidding processes
  • Technical proficiency with CMMS platforms, facility management software, and Excel with demonstrated data analysis capabilities
  • Deep understanding of facility compliance requirements and regulations including ADA, OSHA, fire/life safety codes, and environmental requirements
  • Strong leadership capabilities with proven experience developing teams, managing performance outcomes, and building actionable career development plans
  • Outstanding communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) with excellent relationship-building abilities and superior problem-solving skills in fast-paced retail environments

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Facilities Management, or related field
  • Professional certifications such as CFM (Certified Facility Manager), FMP (Facility Management Professional), SFP (Sustainability Facility Professional), or RPA (Real Property Administrator)
  • Specific experience managing customer-facing retail environments and high-traffic facilities with focus on customer experience priorities
  • Familiarity with corporate real estate portfolio management and lease administration
  • Experience implementing and optimizing facility technology platforms with integration between client and service delivery systems
  • Track record of developing standardized best practices, playbooks, and continuous improvement initiatives with vendor partners
  • Knowledge of retail brand standards and ability to ensure vendor adherence to customer experience requirements

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing daily operations across assigned retail locations while ensuring full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations including ADA, OSHA, fire/life safety codes, and environmental requirements
  • Managing strategic vendor relationships and networks across multiple trades, holding service providers accountable to SLAs and KPIs through regular performance evaluations and score carding
  • Utilizing CMMS and integrated technology platforms to track work orders, schedule preventative maintenance, manage assets, and generate data-driven insights for operational optimization
  • Developing and managing facility budgets aligned with client objectives , monitoring variances, forecasting capital expenditure needs, and implementing cost-saving initiatives while maintaining service quality
  • Leading and developing a team of Facility Management professionals through performance management, coaching, career development planning, and succession strategy execution
  • Partnering with Workplace Coordinators and client stakeholders to resolve critical facility issues, coordinate third-party vendor relationships, and deliver exceptional service that balances operational needs with customer experience
  • Managing retail-specific operations including storefront maintenance, signage, parking lot management, interior finishes, customer amenities, and accessibility features while responding to planned and unplanned facility emergencies
