About The Position

The Stroum Jewish Community Center is looking for a skilled and reliable Senior Facility Maintenance Technician to help keep our campus safe, functional, and welcoming for our community. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with building systems, and taking ownership of day-to-day facility operations. You’ll partner closely with the Facility Manager while also working independently—especially during evening and Sunday coverage—to ensure everything runs smoothly. Requirements

2–4 years of facilities maintenance or building operations experience (preferred)
Experience with building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) strongly preferred
Ability to troubleshoot issues and work independently
Strong attention to safety and detail
Comfortable handling a variety of maintenance tasks in a dynamic environment
Basic computer skills (email, work order systems)
Technical or trade training is a plus

Responsibilities

Support daily building operations and maintenance across SJCC facilities
Perform routine inspections of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
Troubleshoot and complete maintenance repairs safely and efficiently
Assist with preventative maintenance to keep systems running smoothly
Complete general repairs including carpentry, painting, and light construction
Support facility improvement projects and upgrades
Coordinate with vendors and contractors on-site
Respond to maintenance requests and manage work orders
Maintain records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities
Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
Assist with upkeep of exterior spaces and grounds
Participate in on-call coverage as needed
