About The Position

The Stroum Jewish Community Center is looking for a skilled and reliable Senior Facility Maintenance Technician to help keep our campus safe, functional, and welcoming for our community. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with building systems, and taking ownership of day-to-day facility operations. You’ll partner closely with the Facility Manager while also working independently—especially during evening and Sunday coverage—to ensure everything runs smoothly. Requirements

  • 2–4 years of facilities maintenance or building operations experience (preferred)
  • Experience with building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) strongly preferred
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and work independently
  • Strong attention to safety and detail
  • Comfortable handling a variety of maintenance tasks in a dynamic environment
  • Basic computer skills (email, work order systems)
  • Technical or trade training is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support daily building operations and maintenance across SJCC facilities
  • Perform routine inspections of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Troubleshoot and complete maintenance repairs safely and efficiently
  • Assist with preventative maintenance to keep systems running smoothly
  • Complete general repairs including carpentry, painting, and light construction
  • Support facility improvement projects and upgrades
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors on-site
  • Respond to maintenance requests and manage work orders
  • Maintain records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
  • Assist with upkeep of exterior spaces and grounds
  • Participate in on-call coverage as needed
