About The Position

Our organization operates two critical infrastructure facilities, including the largest emergency contact center in the United States in New Jersey and a fully redundant emergency contact center in Houston, Texas. These facilities are staffed 24/7/365 and require best-in-class uptime, featuring high-availability data centers with the highest uptime expectations. Our business operates continuously, and our facilities teams support a significant employee population across three call center locations in the United States. This role is a senior-level, hands-on position responsible for the technical ownership of all building systems across two Class A office buildings and one fulfillment center. The focus is on proactive maintenance, advanced troubleshooting, system reliability, and maintaining Class A service standards. The goal is to reduce vendor reliance through first-level diagnostics and repair, lead preventive maintenance execution, and provide technical guidance to Facilities Technicians. Strong commercial HVAC, plumbing, and electrical troubleshooting experience are essential.

Requirements

  • 7+ years commercial building maintenance experience.
  • Strong rooftop HVAC troubleshooting background.
  • Ability to read electrical, mechanical, & plumbing drawings.
  • Experience in high-end corporate office environment preferred.
  • Proven track record of proactive system management.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee 17 rooftop HVAC units; diagnose airflow, condensate, control, and electrical faults; interpret schematics; track service history; assess repair vs. replacement; escalate major failures.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems up to 277V; replace components (ballasts, drivers, switches, outlets); resolve recurring faults; maintain panel accuracy; follow LOTO protocols.
  • Diagnose and repair minor plumbing issues; identify developing wear.
  • Maintain dock levelers, overhead doors, and fulfillment equipment; monitor up time and repeat failures.
  • Support life safety compliance: conduct fire extinguisher inspections, inspect emergency systems, assist with sprinkler/fire panel checks, & maintain audit documentation.
  • Own preventive maintenance program and inspection cadence; conduct weekly building walks; mitigate risks pre-failure; reduce emergency work orders.
  • Manage work orders in Maintenance Care; prioritize same-day resolution; track labor/materials; maintain asset logs; perform root cause analysis; deliver monthly system condition reports.
  • Maintain Class A finish quality; respond promptly to leadership requests; minimize operational disruption; uphold professional presentation and conduct.
